Red Breasted Nuthatch

Tacoma, WA

In August of 2022, I was contacted by a local homeowner in Tacoma to design and paint a mural for the side of their garage. I had a lot of freedom on this project, so I basically drew something up that I would want to see on my own garage. I took the time to put together a design that would appropriately match the style of the homeowners and fit in with the natural feel of their backyard space.

Fun fact about Red Breasted Nuthatches:
Nuthatches are the only species that can walk both up and down a tree. Also, unlike treecreepers, nuthatches don't use their tail for support but rely on the strength of their legs.
