During the winter of 2021, I was commissioned by the Puyallup Main Street Association to design and paint a mural in downtown Puyallup as part of an effort to revitalize the neighborhood.

For this mural, I chose to go with a ruby-throated hummingbird because it is such a recognizable bird and they tend to bring a sense of happiness to people who see them. The open wings of the bird represent warmth and welcome to anyone who lives in or is visiting the city.
